Range of Emotions

I wish I could describe in words the wide range of emotions we have felt over the last few weeks - but alas, I cannot. That said, while waiting for our 2nd round of chemo in Kim's room I just came across this little picture collage I put together of Selah and her cousin Chaeli from this past Thanksgiving.

Yep, this pretty much sums it up:
Thanksgiving 2011

  1. Those two precious little girls have grown up so much and look far too sweet to be angry or melancholy! What cute pictures! Seriously, though, I can only imagine the wide range of emotions both you and Kim are experiencing. I am continuing to lift you up in prayer each day. What a blessing to have a compassionate God who cares about our every need.

  4. These are messages and verses from Ann B, who has been praying for you:

    Mark 1:41
    Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man.

    Deut 33:26-27
    There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides on the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms."

    Isiah 64
    Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.

  5. While preparing for the coming Lord's Day we saw that we will be singing this hymn in the evening. We didn't get through the first verse without thinking of you. We continue to lift you up before the throne of God.

    Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
    The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide;
    When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
    Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me.

    Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
    Earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
    Change and decay in all around I see—
    O Thou who changest not, abide with me.

    I need Thy presence every passing hour;
    What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s pow’r?
    Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
    Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

    I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
    Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness;
    Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
    I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

    Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
    Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies;
    Heav’n’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
    In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
